Parent Letters For Back To School - Early Childhood Teachers
Its the most important time of the year for many of us teachers, and specifically preschool teachers. We are preparing to start a new school year with returning and new students!
I always like to start the year off with letters home to my new and returning families. The back to school letters home go over the intention for the year, and what we need from parents for the new year. Each year I send home a welcome letter, Daily routine letter, supplies list, and what to bring on the first day.
Sending home these letters help me stay in communication with parents before the start of the new school year. Keep reading to see the letters I send home, and if they would work for your class!
Back To School Welcome Letter
This letter just welcomes the families, introduces myself and lets them know what my intentions are for the upcoming school year.
Daily Routine Letter
I always like to establish a daily routine with my kiddos. I also like to get parents involved in what a typical day for us may look like. Although this routine is not set in stone, as we often have enrichments throughout the year. It gives parents an idea of what they can expect a typical day to look like for us!
Preschool Supply List
Each year I require parents to bring in school supplies to be shared throughout the classroom, or for individual use. I find it helpful when i think of all the supplies needed for the year and send out a checklist for school supplies needed.
First Day Of School Checklist
Often times i’m asked, what should my child bring on the first day of school? So I send out these fun little “ First Day Of School” cards as a checklist for parents as they prepare for the first day of school!
